Some diners mention occasional wait times for food, especially during peak hours. A few patrons have experienced items missing from their orders, but these issues are often resolved quickly by the attentive staff. A 40-minute wait for a burger has been noted by some, which can be a bit challenging when you're hungry. Moreover, while the diner is generally accessible with a wheelchair lift, the bike shop does not boast the same level of accessibility, something that could deter some visitors from exploring everything on offer.
Another common concern relates to the limited availability of certain menu items during busy times, leading to disappointment for those eager to try specific dishes. Despite these bumps, many find the experience worth the wait, driven by the quality of food and atmosphere.
A great place to visit. Lovely food and lots of bikes memorabilia to browse. Life size batman and captain America at the entrance to welcome the kids. A VW camper to sit inside and eat but you need to book in advance. Bern twice now and both times had a bit of a wait and something missing off our plates that were included in the menu but very quick to put right and always friendly 😀
I would have given it a 4 as the wait for my burger was 40 min. However the food and staff were fantastic. The best burger I've had for a long time. The diner is motorbike themed with a bike shop downstairs. There is a wheelchair lift to the diner but I'm not sure about access to the bike shop. There's lots to look at and it's a very nice atmosphere.
I've wanted to go to Jem Speed Shop for so long but I live so far away. Lucky for me my daughter lives very close now. We visited last weekend and I was not disappointed. The range of quality bikes for sale is quite something. The dinner was very nice too. With a license bar for them of you not driving. Yep my Daughter was so I had a pint and a burger.
Jem’s Pit Stop, and Batley, West Yorkshire is an American themed diner. We were driving to Birstall and thought to stop for a a bite in the afternoon and when we were read the tweets but reviews we didn't believe there is place like this in Batley so decided to try it and we weren't disappointed but glad to see it. Look at the photos that will explain it. It took us a long time to explore the place and see the motorbikes and hidden treasures of the place. Then we headed to our table to eat and that was good a very good menu plenty varieties for different diets and people of all ages. The staff, service and quality of food all great.
When for breakfast and will be definitely going again for dinner/tea at some point from walking and and seeing captain America and batman just makes the whole experience even better Staff was friendly and wouldnt help more and even had a laught with us. Food was nice and definitely worth the money three large drinks one breakfast sandwiches and the biggest breakfast for less then 27 pound. They have a number of events on different night too which do sound fun. The whole experience was good and can't wait to go again theirs other parts like a bike shop , tattoo shop and cloths shop on the lower floor and you wouldn't expect this from looking out side their are VW vans you can eat in along with bike on the bar and other items around.
Great decor, lots of retro things to show the kids, food is really good- good size portion. Burgers are amazing and great value on 241 Wednesday. Great idea using VW camper vans as special seating- nice treat when taking the kids. Loved looking at the retro cars and bikes down stairs. Overall great experience
